courtyard leading to the rustic timber door of the villa’s entrance. Every Beach Villa features both an
indoor and outdoor shower and a private terrace that leads to the beach.

SERVICE DESCRIPTION |
|
Scuba Diving:
Addu Atoll is an aquatic treasure trove waiting to be discovered; a veritable haven for divers and
anyone curious about the underwater world. And a fascination for the crystal clear blue sea and
its kingdom of creatures is not just for tourists. There is such a variety of species on display that
the sea here is virtually a second home for teams of scientists and marine biologists.
For resort guests there is excellent diving and snorkelling available for all levels of ability. And
on Shangri La's Villingili Resort and Spa, the resort's marine biologist has ingeniously relocated
a magical coral garden close to the resort shoreline. The result is not landscaping but seascaping
and the creation of snorkelling gardens, which thrive with colourful underwater life, are ideal for
less experienced snorkellers and children.

Food and Beverage |

Khazaanaage Restaurant & Bar:
Food and Beverage
It is only appropriate that Khazaanaage reflects the Maldives’ strategic location at the crossing
points of travel between the Far East, the Arabian Gulf and the Indian Sub-Continent. A
convenient stopping point for ships plying these routes, many travellers docked with foreign
influences and sailed away with exotic tales about the scenic islands.
Modern-day travellers will react similarly to Khazaanaage (House Of Treasure). Khazaanaage’s
concept is simple and innovative - the three distinctive Eastern-style living rooms representing
the different cultures and cuisines that have influenced the Maldives. The first restaurant of its
kind in the Maldives, the three separate dining rooms focus on different cuisines from the Indian
Ocean, the South China Sea and the Arabian Gulf.
reflects the sea and beyond. Legendary traveller, Ibn Battuta, stayed in the Maldives for protracted periods on his historical
travels between his home of Morocco and China. His exploits and experiences are part of the
charm that have helped shape the islands. The dining pavilions are decorated throughout with
special artworks and nostalgic artefacts historically significant to the three regions that Ibn
Battuta traversed - from old nautical instruments like sextants from the spice trade route era to
local herbal etchings and foliage collections.
It is a style that might have encouraged Ibn Battuta to stay a little longer…
Javvu Restaurant:
For that feeling of dining in the elements, Javvu Restaurant is ideally located. Set across two
pavilions, it has a fresh, cool and sophisticated atmosphere. A large glass front, seven-metre
high ceilings, natural open rafters and decorative pendant lights help imbue Javvu with a light
and airy ambience.
There is a contemporary, welcoming feel and the emphasis in Javvu is on fine dining in relaxed
and stylish surroundings Located close to the ocean, diners sit on leather woven white seats and
blue, red and gold accented throw pillows. Javvu in the local Dhivehi language means
‘atmosphere’ and that is available here in abundance.
Javvu is Shangri-La's Villingili Resort and Spa’s all-day dining restaurant, featuring quality café
dining during the day and refined Western cuisine in the evening - prime steaks and seafood,
imbued with a touch of the Mediterranean. Breakfast at Javvu is informal but essential to the
experience. Culinary creativity is evident in the menus. Guests can choose their meals from the a
la carte cooked breakfast or Continental selection. Lunch features an international café-style
poolside menu, with tempting favourites to suit the international palate. The menu also includes
dishes developed exclusively for Shangri-La to satisfy the taste buds of the health-conscious.
