As part of a major expansion of its global network, Maldivian direct flights to China have been announced to three major Chinese cities: Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu. An important step in enhancing travel relations between the Maldives and China is this strategic route expansion, which comes after the airline just added the Airbus A330-200, its first wide-body aircraft.
The first Maldivian direct flights have already made their way to Chengdu on 22nd January, Beijing on 24th January, and Shanghai on 27th January. Maldivian’s recently purchased Airbus A330-200 aircraft, which have three cabin classes with 18 Business Class seats, 36 Premium Economy seats, and 210 Economy Class seats, will fly these new routes.
Regarding this milestone, Mr. Ismail Amrah Umar, Maldivian’s Chief Commercial Officer, said, “The launch of these Maldivian direct flights to China represents a significant achievement in our expansion strategy. By connecting the Maldives directly with three major Chinese cities, we are not only enhancing accessibility for Chinese tourists but also strengthening the cultural and economic ties between our nations.”
Maldivian provided special prices for the first flights in honor the following route launches:
- Male’ – Chengdu route for $688 return
- Male’ – Beijing route for $788 return
- Male’ – Shanghai route for $777 return
